Synopsis
Students of the World is an international documentary series that explores the everyday lives of children across cultures through an intimate, observational lens. Each episode follows two young protagonists, one from an urban environment and one from a rural region, capturing a single school day shaped by family, friendships, education, and personal dreams.
The first season travels across five countries: Australia, Germany, Malaysia, India, and Portugal. Revealing both the diversity and universality of growing up in today’s world. From bustling cities to remote villages, the series highlights different school systems, social realities, and cultural traditions, while allowing the children’s voices and perspectives to remain at the center.
Without narration, only guided by the students themselves, the films invite viewers to observe, reflect, and connect. Themes such as access to education, social inequality, cultural identity, and community life emerge naturally through the protagonists’ experiences, offering a nuanced and human-centered perspective on global childhood.
Designed especially for younger audiences, Students of the World fosters intercultural understanding and empathy, encouraging viewers to look beyond borders and recognize both differences and shared experiences. Accompanied by educational materials, the series is not only a cinematic journey but also a tool for global learning and dialogue.
